This invention relates to chemical methods for controlling weeds and unwanted vegetation by treating it with herbicides. Weeds control methods are known based on the use of derivatives of aryloxyalkanoic carboxylic acids as herbicides. These include, for example, a method based on the use of N-ethylamide 2-nitro-5- (2, C-dichlorophenoxy) -d-phenoxypropionic acid 1. However, the known methods of this type are not sufficiently effective against certain types of weeds or are low-selective in relation to cultivated plants. The aim of the invention is a new method of controlling harmful plants with a herbicide, which has an increased efficiency. This goal is achieved by using the derivative of aryloxyalkanecarboxylic acid of the general formula HOR-R - SB C |) CH3 O -R where R is chlorine or trifluoromethyl as the herbicide; n 1 or 2; R is hydrogen or methyl; R is benzyl, allyl, 1-methylpropinyl, pyridin-2-yl, monosubstituted by Cd-alkyl, which may have g; idroxyl, methoxy, isopropoxy, methylthio or dimethylamino as a substituent; R and R together with nitrogen can form pyrrolidinyl, piperidine, β-methylpiperidinyl or morpholinyl in the amount of 0.6-2, t kg / ha. Methods for the preparation of compounds of general formula I are based on the reactions of the interaction of chlorine and the idrides of the corresponding phenoxyphenoxypropionic acids with amines in the presence of a hydrogen chloride acceptor and on the interaction of the esters of these acids with amines. The compounds of general formula I are used in the usual formulation:

Concentrates, solutions, granules, powders, etc., are prepared by conventional methods. The content of active substances in these forms can be in the range of 2 to 95% by weight. Table 1 presents the compound of general formula I.
